Know what? I think Staley will continue tweaking his D as this season unfolds.

Not only with player rotations at edge, ILB, CB and the many nickel and dime sets. But also in terms of increasingly sophisticated disguises as to coverages and responsibilities.

Take AD, for example. Much was made of AD needing to be a better run defender prior to this first game. But AD actually had one of his most disruptive games ever. I mean, he was a game wrecker against both the run and the pass driving the Cowboys nuts. I think Staley’s fingerprints are all over this modification. Another one was when Ramsey and Fuller exchanged hand signals prior to that dramatic 4th down game changing stop.

IOW, I foresee improvements in this D throughout as Staley continues to tweak. The best is yet to come.
