McCarthy’s call made a lot of sense. If he could have got his team in the end zone, McVay most likely has to get out of his play action scheme and do a little more drop back and open up and stretch the field. Since the Dallas D line was never offered that scenario, McCarthy probably figured he could negate Goff by forcing him to operate outside of the scheme.
