Rams slotted just inside top 25 of pre-camp power rankings

The overall consensus around the Rams right now is not that they’re a playoff team or a Super Bowl contender. In fact, it seems like more analysts and media members are picking the Rams to miss the playoffs than those projecting them to make the postseason.

After a down year in 2019 and an offseason that featured more losses than additions, it’s easy to see why the team’s stock isn’t nearly as high as it was this time last year. Touchdown Wire has slotted the Rams fairly low in its power rankings throughout the offseason, and this edition is no different.

Mark Schofield put the Rams 24th in his pre-camp rankings for Touchdown Wire, which is where they were in the site’s summer power rankings. That’s just barely ahead of the 25th-ranked Giants and the 26th-ranked Jets, who just offloaded Jamal Adams to the Seahawks. The Rams are also right behind the Broncos and Falcons, who are 23rd and 22nd, respectively.

It’s highly unlikely the sentiment surrounding this Rams team will change much at all before the season begins unless they somehow pull off a major move for offensive line help. It won’t be until Los Angeles rips off a few wins in a row to start the season that it will move up in power rankings around the internet – especially if some of those wins come against teams such as the Cowboys, Eagles and Bills.
