Sorry at a young age of 10 in 1976 I detested Pat Haden, felt James Harris was much better and really felt Ron Jaworski should have been the starting QB after the 75 season and he would have, but Jaws broke his leg, giving Haden a chance and owner Carroll Rosenbloom loved Haden because of watching him play at USC and being a Rhode Scholar, but Knox preferred Harris and was pressured to play Haden over him. I didn't like Haden then and even less when Georgia let Vince Ferragamo walk in 1981 because the Rams were paying Haden, but Haden proved how bad he was in 1981.
I still remember being at the Meadowlands in New Jersey in 1981 as the Rams played the Giants and it was so windy Haden could not throw because he didn't have the arm strength to cut through the wind, it was outrageous. Rams lost that game 10-7. I will always wonder if Jaworski had not gotten hurt and had his chance in 76, what would have happened, but I could not stand Haden and I guess I blame him for some of the failures under Knox.
