you guys are hilarious
I assure you if Goff won MVP or the SB he would get respect
That’s how you earn respect when you finish. His problem is he has played really poorly on Sunday Night Football and other national spots and the SB and those have been very recent
In fact had Goff played just average in the SB the Rams likely win that game and as you all know that game resonates with people. He led them to 3 points
What we have to hope for is he matures, that he gets better when things aren’t perfect, that he processes information more quickly and plays better when under pressure
Read the athletic article that talks about what he’s working on to get better. He knows what he needs to work on. It was easily the best article I read all off season and the first step in getting better is recognizing areas where you need to grow.
I encourage you guys to find that post on this page

To this day, all we here when Goff has a good day or a bad one is that he is a system quarterback.
Nothing has really changed that thought process. Sure Goff could earn a little more respect if he wins a Super Bowl or MVP, but I would still bet you anything that Mcvay would earn a larger chunk of that respect around the league.
The narrative would be how Mcvay was finally able to figure out the 6-1 defense and Goff followed it to a tee.
Sure Goff should get credit for fixing holes in his game as well, but the media will not be convinced they were wrong so easily.
