He needs to be way more consistent. A perfect example is the games he had against the 49ers.
Games in which he disappears that the Rams just needed one play from the QB to win. I think about the Lions, Bears, and Eagles games in 2018 and the SB that same season. Of course they beat the Lions but because Gurley took over. He disappeared in games against the Browns (Rams won anyhow) and was horrible in close losses against the Niners and Steelers. Close games where just a play or two from him could make the difference but he was just lost.
IMO those kinds of games happen too often and unfortunately for Goff they have happened on national TV which helps shape the perception of him nationally.
I’m not talking about him having a bad game. I’m talking about him having the kind of game he had in Pittsburgh and SF last year or Chicago in 2018
He has a ton of room to grow
Of course he has room to grow. It would be strange if he didn't.
But you keep naming games where the OL got overmatched.
Name a game where the OL was completely solid and Goff on his own just couldn't get an offense going.
I don't mean where the OL was elite or completely dominated. Just relatively healthy and completely solid.
