By moving on from Gurley and Cooks this year the Rams created enough cap space in 2021 to retain Ramsey, Kupp, and JJ if they want to. I think Ramsey and Kupp are going to get extensions. But JJ?
I agree with you 100% that if the Rams think they won't be hurt by JJ leaving they will definitely let him go ... and snag a 3rd round comp pick (as you mentioned) while using that $14M somewhere else. Perhaps by keeping some of their other FAs (Floyd? Blythe? Hill? McQuaide? Deayon? Reynolds? Ebukam? Shelton? Williams? Brewer? Howard?) or possibly bringing in a FA or 2 from the outside.
