Maybe because of it being a strike shorten season and maybe because Vince Ferragamo came back to reclaim the starting QB position after the debacle of acquiring Bert Jones....All the games were close, but the Rams lost most of them including the epic fail in Green Bay. The defense was looking old and Ray Malavasi was on the way out, although lost in that season was an excellent job done by Offensive Coordinator John Hadl. Herb Patera had taken over for Bud Carson as DC and it obvious the Rams missed Carson.
It laid the ground work for exciting changes, as John Robinson was hired and they drafted Eric Dickerson in 83 and made the playoffs that year, so 82,many of the games were close and exciting, but frustrating at the same time and I never was a Malavasi fan, so I was elated that season was his last although I still recall watching that Raider game at my Uncle's Apartment in Ocean City, NJ and thinking the Rams would win that game as Ferragamo played fantastic.
