I suspect that Kiser is a virtual lock as a starter. And the rest look to me to be a strong field to compete for the other spot in the base D. And isn’t base D gonna constitute maybe 30% of our snaps, anyway? Leaving around 70% of our snaps be in nickel or dime sets? And who knows what combinations Staley is concocting for those sets?
And I further think that Natrez Patrick and the occasional Floyd might get a few snaps inside, too, although not mentioned in this piece.
Johnston and the 3 UDFA LB’s probably reflect on a strong Staley influence as to the types of LB’s he’s looking for.
I’ll just say this. I’m expecting a better run D from the eventual LB starters than last year even though Littleton is gone. I practically guarantee it. Lol.
