...over Weddle when healthy. Weddle admitted he was hurt last year after the season and he was exposed many times in the second half of the season. JJIII will probably make the calls in the secondary and Weddle was excellent at that, so they need a lot from him this season as he looks to get paid for 2021.
If JJIII plays like he did prior to his injury, that is a significant upgrade IMO.
BTW, I read LaMarcus Joyner had a disappointing season according to a Raiders beat reporter and we all know what a disaster Trumaine Johnson was for the NYJ.

While Lamarcus Joyner is currently slotted in as the Raiders‘ starting slot cornerback, Vic Tafur of The Athletic writes that the coaching staff intends to give the 29-year-old some reps at safety. After inking a four-year, $42MM deal last offseason, Joyner was inconsistent during his first season with the Raiders, finishing with 49 tackles and three passes defended in 14 games (1o starts).Maybe they think NRC is not worth $3mm a year due to depth and his skills have diminished a bit?
