I thought he was a very good CB for them for 3 seasons. But they clearly feel good about their secondary and depth. A lot to sort out- Hill vs. Williams vs. Long opposite Ramsey. Can Long play in the slot? Burgess' role?

Johnson's return (and relative upgrade over Weddle) alongside Rapp is a big plus for them. They're legitimately 7 deep in the secondary.

Yeah, we are loaded at CB, no doubt about it.

I’ve posted this before but I think it’s worthy of repetition here. I think that Staley is gonna have a hard time keeping Williams off the field this season. Honestly, I could see him beating out Hill at that outside spot because of Williams’ superior ability to play man. Williams was quite impressive late last year to say the least.

Long and Burgess might battle for that nickel spot. I might give Long a slight edge at nickel because of his one year experience advantage plus I suspect that Staley has plans to integrate Burgess as some form of hybrid LB/S combo, not to mention as a starting S upon JJ’s possible departure in ‘21 due to cap costs.

BTW, would Hill have significant trade value in my scenario?

But the bottom line is that the Rams are as loaded in the secondary as I can remember. A truly beautiful thing, isn’t it?
