I would love to know what his numbers were going beyond his first reads in 2018 and 2017. I would bet there is a gap there but not nearly as sizable as 2019- mainly because he had more time. You're right, he is not Wilson, Rodgers, etc. and likely never will be in that regard of making something out of nothing. But we've all seen Goff make 2nd and even 3rd reads plenty of times the past 3 years.
Run the ball better so that play action is respected (it was not last year...). Use him on rollouts more (like they did late last year). Etc.
In terms of having to throw a lot because of no running game.
