The concept of distance has to be greatly reduced. The Canadian field puts the goal posts at the goal line as opposed to the NFL that puts them 10 yards deeper at the end of the End Zone. There goes 10 yards off FG distance right there. So a 35 yard Canadian FG is 45 in the NFL. A 45 yard Canadian FG is 55 in the NFL and so forth. So the idea that this guy's leg is stronger according distance than GZs doesn't seem so.
BTW: this guy's longest FG in his career in 56 yards, which equates to a 46 yard NFL kick. Not very impressive when you consider that an NFL point-after kick is the equivalent of a 43 yard CFL FG; which is only 3 yards shorter than this guy's career long!
Add in that the pressure that NFL STs can put on a Kicker are greater than what the CFL can do because everything is done faster and at a higher level and if the Rams have to go with this guy, I'd be worried.
Sloman is more powerful and has consistently kicked what would be 60 yard FGs in the CFL. In games. Not in shorts in workouts.
Sloman wins this position hands down. All kickers can punt a little bit if needed.
