I dunno, I hope Bonemgo will be better but I suspect that Fassel, Daniels and GZ will prove to be key for Dallas this year.
I feel Dallas got the best of the ST signings when compared with us. We'll see.
About Fassel: His stats were trending down for several years. It happens. Sometimes you need that ‘new broom’ change.
About GZ: He had a bad year. There’s no denying it. Might have cost us 2 games and I don’t have to tell you what that would have meant. Then there’s his salary and his health. His kicking motion might have created some of those back issues, I dunno. I can see the logic of making a change there.
About Bonamego: I was underwhelmed at first, myself. Mostly due to ignorance about him, tbh. But the more I learn, the more I like. For example, bringing in 3 outstanding kickers to compete looks like a brilliant move to me. I also sense that some of the background UDFA moves seem to be ST oriented. Don’t be surprised if a couple of unexpected players make this roster because of ST prowess.
I join everybody else in wishing Fassel and GZ well except when playing our Rams. But I also think that the Rams made a couple of wise moves in moving on from them. Add Wade Phillips to that list while we’re at it.
