I actually find myself agreeing with your conspiracy theory. I do think we were good enough to overcome all that in the Super Bowl if we made the right calls, but we didn't.
Always laugh about the Patriots linebacker who absolutely mugged Faulk without the ball coming out of the backfield, then went crazy when he was penalized for it. After the game he said "I didn't do anything different on that play than on any other play during the game." And that was a true statement.
They could have been labeled sex offenders for the way they abused Faulk and the receivers all game, and were almost never called.
To be fair, we did the same thing in SB 53 and didn't really get called either. They just really don't want to throw flags in the SB and Belicheat has always been smart enough to take advantage of that.
