He did have a fantastic 2nd half of the season. I shouldn't have included him in my post. I was mostly using Goff's stats to drive my point. Goff has a subpar year too; are we also writing him off?
Basically, I don't feel we can simply point to bad stats over 1 season - especially when a player has only played 1 season - to write a player off or dismiss their future potential. There are often things to explain the bad year such as a bad OL in this case.
