Just when I was finally happy with mu mock, Les comes by and chucks a very large grenade into my draft room!!!
Its funny, just last night I was thinking to myself "why the hell are we talking to Denzel Mims, there is no way we will get anyway near him". Then I thought, what if there is something behind these Cooks Trade rumours. Never thought I would wake up to that news though.
So now we have an extra 2nd round pick, I would have preferred Houston's pick at 40 rather than 57 but there you go. So what now
1) Do we just go with the top WR at 52 and then trade down with 57 and continue as before, Edge, LBer, IOL etc.
2) Do we take a 2nd WR in the mid rounds? I would say that would be a bad idea, we could still get a very good option in the 4th and if we trade 57 we could get multiple 3rd and 4th round picks.
3) Rather than a 2nd WR do we move RB up the priority list and go for Moss rather than Dillon
4) Do we trade down from both 52 and 57 and get a barrel load of 3rd and 4th rounders, could be fun.
5)Do we trade up and try and get someone like Mims
6) Do we go with Reynolds to replace Cooks, more 12 personnel and concentrate on other areas of the roster.
We have to add atleast 1 WR in my opinion but who should it be? Realistically I think Mins is out of reach. Donovan Peoples-Jones might be there at 52 (probably need to trade up a few spots to secure him) but I'm not sure if he is what we are looking for, he played with a high ankle sprain in 19 which might account for his stats but I think he is more of a big slot receiver. Chase Claypool would be an interesting but he had a huge jump after the combine and that make me want to look a bit closer at him before I commit. Jalen Reagor would be a nice option but where does he go, I think too high for us. KJ Hamle, not for me, too small, too many drops, more of a slot weapon. Aiyuk would also e perfect but I think he goes higher than Reagor. Could Higgins fall that far?
So many questions, oh well, back to the drawing board.
