i completely get that.... odds say it's that way, if nothing else.
But like you I'm seeing Mahomes doing things that simply are not ordinary or anything close to ordinary. I think this kid is here to stay.
That said... he needs a team... every QB, every player on the field needs a 'team'. Saw KC falter badly in some recent games, out of the gate... that doesn't give me confidence. SF will not falter in that same manner. BUT... KC doesn't quit either.
What gives me confidence is how the Chiefs stayed poised when they got behind by double digits early and then exploded. They don't fall apart in big games. But odds are there is a regression to the mean and the Chiefs start faster in this game. The Chiefs have a lethal supporting cast for Mahomes. Hill and Kelce are pro bowlers, and the other weapons are very strong. Plus, the OL is very good especially on the edges, and in pass pro. A huge question here is does Spags have enough to keep the Niners from dominating up front with their running game.
I think Spags will do enough to keep that from happening. I think Garoppolo will have to play very well for the Niners to win. I have to see that to believe it.
This game went pretty much the way I expected.
Mahomes had the crap kicked out of him, and was never deterred. This kid is very very special.
