We live in a society where it's okay to say something abstract like "he got that job or promotion because of his white privelege" but not okay to point out something that actually is obvious to the human eye. Vinny Testaverde struggled in his early years with the Buccaneers because they wore those creamsicle jerseys at home and he is color blind. Is that insensitive to color blind people?
Why can't we point out something like this? Who does it hurt?
I think it's brand new territory to site skin color as an advantage .

Bears Uniforms are basically black .
If any announcer ever said those teams had advantages in ball fakes with darker skinned black players they should be called out for it.
It would inappropriate to allow it without at least a apology and a period of discipline.
Weddle didn't mention skin color thank God he's not touching it even if he ever thought it.
I think have to watch anything regarding race gender so on.
It is an affront to the black race to mention something like that .
That's something they had to act against or who knows what the next comment will be.
I think that and PR are amoung the disciplinary reasons besides it just sounding like a minor league racist comment.

I just don't understand why it's an affront to the black race to mention that a player has darker skin and it can provide an advantage in this one instance It's not a putdown, any more than saying a tall receiver has an advantage in the Red Zone. The fake handoff is a play designed to deceive the defense. So you have a dark skinned QB, a dark skinned RB, and you switch your uniforms from purple to black and now it's even harder to tell who has the ball. There's no evil intent there on the Ravens' part, or in Weddle or Ryan's part for pointing it out. It's just common sense. If I say "it's harder to see who has the ball" and you hear dog whistles instead, whose fault is that? Lamar Jackson is going to run away with the MVP. And he deserves it. Case closed.
Personally, I think they should put white rings near each end of the ball like they have in little league football. Then the defense can't complain. And these old referees might see things better as well.
