Besides; why do so many here assume the worst? There's no evidence that Cooks needs to retire from football. In fact, no evidence he'll even miss the Pittsburgh game.
Would it be terrible if he had to walk away and the Rams totally restructured his contract over a number of years but guaranteed it? If he could play again I'm sure he would rather have the whole contract amount rather than just getting a certain amount and then the harshness of being cut.
I think for one the Rams and cooks would do right by each other and two it could open up a bunch of money if restructured a certain way no?
Just an example thinking aloud would cooks want 16 million for the one season or get the lump,sum or close to it over time to provide us with cap relief . He helps us we help him.
