You can't get a flash or 2 from 5 inexperienced linemen playing together for basically the first time going up against experienced defensive units.
Once the OL is that way everything else is going to be less stable and less coherent too.
These pre-season games, in terms of the offense, serve the sole purpose of coaching up young inexperienced linemen.
We're lucky it looked as good as it DID.
The benefits are longterm.
I strongly disagree, zn.
It is entirely possible for an individual rookie to flash a time or two if he is equal or superior to his opponent in strength or technique.
And not just on the OL, but with all positions.
Geez, we see it every year.
