Using statistics or any objective measurement, JG is a top 8 QB.
However, most subjective rankings have him much lower. The reasons for this have been discussed ad nauseam, but I think it is mostly people taking a position early on re Goff, and unwilling to admit their mistake so they try to justify his success. If Goff had sat the bench his entire rookie year and simply did what he did in years 2 and 3 (like Mahomes), people would be rating him much higher in my opinion.
