Jared Goff misses the cut in top 11 QB rankingsBy:Cameron DaSilva
Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire did his best to rank the top 11 quarterbacks in the NFL right now and Goff did not make the cut. Carson Wentz and Baker Mayfield were the last two in the top 11, though you could argue Goff deserves to be higher than both of them.
Sure, his final eight games of 2018 (including the postseason) weren’t pretty, but his first 11 performances were MVP-worthy. Prior to the Rams’ Week 12 bye, Goff was averaging 322 yards per game and threw 26 touchdown passes to just six interceptions. Expanded over 16 games, those numbers would look like this: 5,159 yards, 38 touchdowns and nine interceptions with a passer rating of 113.5.
The other quarterbacks in the top 11 all have a strong case to be there, but so does Goff. He’s more proven than Mayfield and has been far healthier than Wentz, even rivaling the Eagles QB’s numbers.
