Hard to believe he wasn't a scheme fit. He started 15 games in 2017, would have been the starter in 2018 if it wasn't for his suspension, was active for all 6 games that he was with the Rams after his suspension, and was only cut when the Rams needed the cap space to trade for Fowler. Beyond that they cut 5 OL in 2018 (including Neary) and kept Brown even though he was unavailable the first three games of the season. I think the Rams liked Brown and it seems clear to me that they only let him go because that had no other choice.
