the argument posed in that way... that is. For example... why is this 'with a lot' only brought up in relationship to Kurt. It's probably MORE true of Deacon, which takes away exactly NADA from Deacon. What I mean is: It lacks context when singled out. That wasn't your intent... I know, and this is the third time I've noted that. - JamesJM
It isn't brought up only in relation to Kurt. Not by me anyway. I will always be on the side of those who say the qb gets too much credit with a win, and too much blame with a loss. I have been on that side in discussions involving probably every starting qb who has ever played for the Rams.
I don't think it lacks context, I think the point was to provide context.
Saying someone is being "dismissive and belittling" is a pretty heavy claim, my friend--it's a lot to put on someone. I am just saying I did not cross that line in this discussion. It's just the ordinary and age old "not everything is on the qb" discussion. In fact I have defended Goff when people have said it's not him it's McVay, and I defended Bulger when people didn't account for the symphony of trainwrecks level OL disarray from 2007-2009. Whenever anyone has ever said Warner was just a product of the system I can go on at length about how much he brought to the game, and have done so..
Actually I doubt anyone would ever claim Deacon did everything on his own. A Rams fan would know that if nothing else he was next to an all-pro DT, let alone on a line so renowned it has a nickname. And on the other hand, saying THAT does not take anything away from Deacon.
