I'm not saying that don't know something their not telling us, but knees post major trauma are never quite the same.
He might be able to continue playing at a high level for years with or without management. From personal experience of ACL/meniscal work on my knee over the years, there are days I can sprint like I used to (well in my head anyway) and then for no apparent reason some days I cant even contemplate running to the front gate!
So hopefully it settles and he's capable of playing on as we TG as a player for a good number of years yet, albeit a few less carries overall..
