agreed with Goff's lazy play action move. and a big reason the play action and jet sweep didn't work against the Bears and eagles was because we play action fake and fake the jet sweep a lot more than we actually run them. teams started ignoring all our smoke and mirrors.
cut to the cards/9'ers games we became a runming team and ran a bunch of jet sweeps.
however, I disagree with those who think we need to adjust our philosophy and run the ball more to win. As some stated, Bears and Eagles abandoned the run because it was futile.
if your game plan is to establish the run you can end up with a lot of 3 and outs. while the other team establishes a 14 point lead.
I hope McVay adjusts to our usual, which is using the pass to set up the run, while not getting too impatient in a low scoring, field position type of game.
we need to live and die by the sword. aggressive play got us 13 wins. let's bury them!.
