If Trubitsky becomes a solid or better starting QB nobody's going to care, and the trade will have been worthwhile.
Everyone's beating up the Bears, but they didn't give up all that much IF they hit on the QB. So you can also say "no guts no glory" or you gotta roll the dice sometimes to get what you want, etc.
If, on the other hand, Trubitsky is a bust, it's going to set them back just like it normally would. I mean it's all about hitting on the QB and if you don't have one you're just going through the motions because you might make the playoffs at best but then are likely to be sent packing in early rounds.
Rams gave up far more for Goff and I'm not complaining yet. Not gonna either, up until it's clear he's a bust, if ever. Because they didn't have a QB, saw they didn't like this year's class, and moved up to the top to take the guy they coveted. Bag on them all you want, but even with all they gave up it's still true that IF Goff grows into a good starter the Rams are going to win a lot of games and have a shot.
Not really the point right now though...they're getting killed by everybody and their mother because they gave up multiple high picks for NO reason. The Niners straight bluffed them and they panicked...I read an article last night about what a mess that organization is right now and that the young GM is about to be fired.
Of course the Rams gave up more for Goff- 1) he is a better prospect and -2) they had to move up 15 spots to do it.
Yes, it will help if the kid turns out to be worth it, but boy he better be now....
