Is Kyle Shanahan more interested in coaching Denver than the Rams job?

Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is a favorite for the Los Angeles Rams gig but may have more interest in Denver Broncos.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Rams are not the job that Shanahan is focusing on right now (via NFL.com):

“The word with people involved in coaching searches and gathering all of this information is that the job Shanahan has his eyes on is going to Denver — where his father coached.”

The Rams will interview Shanahan either today (Jan. 6) or tomorrow (Jan. 7) for their head coaching vacancy.

But Shanahan has said that he’s not going to take any head coaching job offered to him, which means he could decline one offered by the Rams (via Denver Post).

“When you’re in a pretty good situation and you’re very happy where you are, not just professionally but also in your life with your family, there’s got to be really good reasons to leave that.”

The Falcons offensive coordinator has not publicly commented on the Los Angeles coaching vacancy.

In the latest odds listed to become Los Angeles head coach, however, Shanahan is considered one of the favorites with twenty percent implied probability.

Shanahan, however, recently spoke about the respect he has for Denver and their vision to create a team that can win a Super Bowl.

His father, Mike Shanahan, won two Super Bowl titles with the Broncos when Kyle was young.
