or whether you think he's going to be replaced... nor what the name "Kroenke" might mean in a new HC selection...
How long, basically, do you feel it takes for a new Head Coach to come in and implement his philosophy? I realize the variables are innumerable so I'm not looking for a specific time period... more like:
Is a 'down' year, a fall off that is, and at least one year, to be expected? More? Even with the 'right' hire?
Many here feel our talent level is poor... so how long for the 'right' coach to set it right?
For those who think there is something on this roster to work with... how long, with the right coach?
For those of you who are 'sure' of who our new head coach should be, YOUR guy, how long will it take him? - JamesJM
When Harbaugh took over SF, I went oh-oh, cause I know SF had a ton of veteran talent---great players who were in the 4-6 year window. I also knew about Harbaugh from Stanford and thought he was a good coach.
OTOH when Carroll took over Seattle, he basically inherited nothing. The drafting before his hire had been bad for a while. He did get the defense off the ground, his speciality---eg. they were 27th on defense in 2010 but 9th in 2011. But until they added Wilson, as a whole team, they were just chugging along at 7-9. Adding Wilson to Lynch made such a huge difference.
So. It depends.
