It's the memo marked "never managed to do quite as well without Palmer."
Or with a Palmer who isn't playing as well.
Since that started happening, all the "but look at Arians" types have been much more silent.
Personally, I think he inherited a defense and did well as long as he had a viable Palmer.
If he were a Rams coach, we would be calling that "excuses."
