Apprently the sophomore slump has a lot to do with teams starting to stack the box,but I looked up ED and AP and they had very strong second years. So maybe Gurley is not a once in a generation RB, rather just a top tier RB in this league. If just top tier, then the Rams need to build an offense that includes him, but doesn't rely on him.
Problem is, if teams have been stacking the box to stop Gurley, shouldn't that allow the offense to succeed? Yet we are last in the league on offense.
Clearly the answer to stopping the Rams is to stack the box and make them try to beat you with their dink and dunk passes.
Basically defenses just do the equivelent of what you do when a girl comes up to bat...
