LB's indeed

I said several months ago that I'm actually more iffy about the defense than I am about the offense. Too many good parts being replaced with unknowns. Too many ifs between Gaines' foot, and between Tree's ears, and lots of young, unproven talent, even in the secondary. I'm a little gunshy about hanging my hopes on "young with potential", and you are too, if you've been watching the Rams the last 4 years! I think we lost our best back and our 3rd best back in the secondary. Gaines is still a question mark. I know the nature of the injuries is different, but I think about Chris Long who dropped rapidly after injury, and Quinn who spent the entire last season in sort of half-recovery. In retrospect, it would have been a mistake to mark those players in the "returned to form" column.

And Speed is back?? It's like that old adage about a horse running back into a burning barn! Good to see you!
