Rams safety T.J. McDonald never thought he’d play in the Coliseum again, but the former USC standout will make his return Saturday when the Rams practice on their temporary field for the first time.

The Rams are scheduled to play home games at the Coliseum for three seasons before their new stadium opens in Inglewood in 2019.

“I can’t really say how I’m going to feel when I come out that tunnel, but I think that will be a lot of fun,” McDonald said after training camp practice this week.

McDonald played four seasons for the Trojans before the Rams selected him in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft.

Last season, McDonald made 63 tackles in 11 starts before he was placed on the injured reserve list because of a shoulder injury that required surgery.

“My game develops every year, you always have to keep improving yourself every year and it’s no different this year,” McDonald said.

Saturday’s practice at the Coliseum is open to the public and is set to start at 3 p.m.
