Re: Rodger Saffold

Well. another year, another season, and.......another go of it for Rodger.

Minus the injuries, he's got all the hallmarks one wants in an offensive lineman. He is smart. He is exceptionally strong. He owns it.

there were a few times when he lined up at right guard and he and the right tackle got their "flow" right that things really opened up over there.

he's a short 10 days until he gets a chance to line it up against someone not wearing blue and gold.

there's some elements to how he and Brown work together that I am curious about. Not expecting a lot come Aug 13th, but I also prefer not to watch the Cowboys come in and blow up the right side. I wonder if the kid, Jamon Brown, has made some strides in the weight room since the draft. The boy was not exactly what one would describe as "fit." I'll call it.......baby fat. Hey, maybe that stuff works on the field, and I'm just not seeing as a value right now.

For now, I'll enjoy that Saffold would be the old man out there, and they need one. They could use a vet somewhere in that mix. When the season starts, especially on the road; Rodger would bring some measure of composure to the unit.
