As credited to the Draft Gurus of our board, Cody has taken to a starter's role. Think both Paul Butcher, and Alyo felt that Cody would find a way to shove his way to the front of the line.....literally.
We'll see.
Perhaps he gets kicked back to the sideline when Rob gets suited up again.
And he's at LG !!!
This does get interesting as G Reynolds ends up being 2nd team.
There is some value here as Cody progresses. Having seen Jamon Brown; uh......I wouldn't want the boy to fall me, but he didn't strike me as the fittest man on the offensive front........can Cody's wily ways eventually payoff.
With Saffold currently as healthy as he'll ever be this year, it's hard not to give a seat among the best 5. You can't dismiss his abilities. But writing is on the wall. Roger is unlikely to start 16 games.
Which leads back to how important some of the preseason work is for a man like Cody. He's going to get some field time over the course of the year. These snaps, especially against the likes of our front four, even the rotational guys helps down the line.
But good on Cody for being first up at OG off the bench.
I think they're reserving Reynolds for the "6th man" spot. Wichmann then gets some reps with the 1st as long as Hav is out, but I don't think the more veteran Reynolds needs to work with the 1s as much at this point.
But when they go into the season, Reynolds would be their designated 6th lineman and guy off the bench if something happens in a game.
I think they want to keep him in that role, so if Saffold does go out at guard (obviously after Hav comes back), yes CW replaces him at guard and Reynolds remains the vet 6th lineman who comes in if someone goes out during a game.
