I agree with you and would even put it stronger than that.
The position in question is not just OL, it's left OT.
As a rule left OTs ARE drafted high. It may be common to get guards, centers, and right OTs lower in the draft, but not LOTs. There are some lower picked LOTs, but you don't count on it.
Look at the GSOT OL. Looking at both the 99 and 2000 OLs, they spent one high 1st round pick on Pace (THE 1st pick, actually). And then the others were a 5th round pick (Miller), 3 low-budget free agents (Gruttaduaria, Nutten and McCollum), and then one high market FA (AT).
