I just don't see Fisher being the one to lead the Rams to championships.
He has a "try not to lose" approach that is palpable.
People call it "conservative". It's not. It's playing to try to eek out a win by the skin of your teeth; get a lead, go into a shell. This style tells your team that they are NOT better than the other guys. Strategy and risk-free football will be the only way to win.
I see no daring except for the occasional fake punt (big deal). Therefore the offense never has an air of confidence or aggressiveness. It is a defensive offense.
The offense especially has not had any life to it under Fisher. It is plodding, mistake prone, constantly out of synch, and predictable. Fisher tolerates mediocrity as long as the effort is there.
I believe the Rams have had a better roster the last 2 years than the record shows. This year's roster going into training camp looks to me like the best one they've had in a decade.
And I fully expect us to see Fisher-ball hold the team back yet again. Sad.
