Are the Chargers an LA afterthought?

I have noticed that when the subject of LA NFL teams and a Stadium comes up, pretty much everywhere, it's the Rams and its the Rams Stadium, with the Chargers almost as an afterthought ("Oh btw; They have the Chargers, too"

And why wouldn't it be that way? Spanos essentially made the Chargers renters. And the team doesn't have any pazzaz or glitzy coach or player. Either they don't make splashy moves, or they are ignored.
It's kind of like being the VP of the USA. You're there, but nobody cares. Most people don't even know your name.
