There’s still plenty still to be determined with the 2020 NFL season in wake of the coronavirus pandemic, but the first step toward playing a full 17-week schedule as planned is for players to begin practicing. OTAs and minicamp were canceled this offseason, limiting prep work to strictly videoconferences and individual training.
Training camp is next on the docket and is scheduled to begin in late July. The spike in coronavirus cases could throw a wrench into those plans, but as of now, the league is planning for teams to still begin camp on time.
That’s straight from commissioner Roger Goodell, who said as much on a conference call Thursday.
