Not everything that happens in any business or profession happens by strategy and plan.
Sometimes you stumble onto something unexpected.

McVay and the NFL are no different.

If Trent Green hadn't gotten hurt, Warner is probably a career back up.
If Kupp hadn't gotten hurt, Puka would not have been thrust into the spotlight.
If the Rams hadn't drafted Verse AND Atlanta hadn't been stupid by trading their early 1st for a 2nd, the Rams wouldn't have Garrett.

On and on it goes.
