Not so sure about AI; there were some rough edges that AI would have polished out, and some peaks to the writing that AI would have flattened.
Most decent writers have an aversion to AI. Those who need it use it as a crutch.
I find spellcheck real handy in my word processor, but have to proofread past it to pick up typos wher spellcheck inserted the wrong word. I want every other grammar and style check in my word processor to stay the hell quiet or shut the hell up.
Granted, I don't proof as well as I can, or should, before posting here. The typos get away from me and they show - mea cupa, and my apologies.When I'm submitting manuscripts for pay I copy edit for everything. But personal correspondence and board posts where I just type and send get a little slipshod, mainly because of my practiced dependence on spellheck.
But that's where I draw the line.
And let's face it: those spelling and grammatical correction devices are AI in its infancy.
