His last piece was less the staccato triads that we see here, more the crisp sentences, tightly linked, that dove into a more layered narrative. As a wordsmith he can do either, and no doubt more as suits his purpose.
His style, and the way he goes about marrying style to meaning, is different from Jourdan's. Both do it exceptionally well. Both are passionate fans who understand the game in depth. Each brings a perspective and clarity to their craft that is unique. I won't say apples and oranges to differentiate them here; it's more like mangos and nectarines, richer and fuller in flavor than their commonplace supermarket counterparts.
I started to break some of it down further, but realized - I've probably gone far enough. That kind of pedantry would dampen the pleasure others derive from simply reading him.
