Problem is, AI is ultimately the servant of its masters. And we, to a greater extent than we realize in our dependance on it, subjugate our will to AI.
We, or too many of us, approach AI with the tacit assumption that AI knows everything and therefore we don't have to think any more. I exaggerate, of course, but you get my drift, We can become increasingly intellectually lazy in our increased dependence on AI. That's top of a rabbit hole.
AI lacks soul. That's another rabbit hole we could go down.
Rabbit hole #3. AI has no moral compass. We must bring our own and it gets worse when human beings without a sufficient moral compass of their own interact with AI at either the input end or as consumers. Raw knowledge without the counterbalance of wisdom is a dangerous thing.
Another, and this is simply a crank annoyance of mine, I find much of what AI feeds me to be intrusive and distracting. For example, I don't
WANT an AI summary in response to every search - I want data and sources to sift through on my own, most likely because I'm looking for something specific. AI's "helpful " presence, in this case, most often isn't. Already, in its infancy, AI is making too many decisions for me that I'd rather make on my own.
I have to say, at this point, that I see the massive potential benefits of AI. But the benefits are not the point of discussion.
I also see a techno-politico-oligarchy that is increasingly losing its bearings plunging headlong into AI without restraint and taking the rest of us with it/them.
I recently wrote a piece entitled "Gemini and Me," that began with a simple request that the system remove some of its annoying interferences with my word processor. What followed from there is a transcript of our exchanges, in which AI was essentially toying with me, replicating my language and yet addressing my requests in its own terms, not mine. Meantime I was toying with AI.

Meantime, the Rams don't need much from AI. They've got McVay and Snead who seem to be operating from a position of one jump ahead. They might use AI as a tool, but not vise-versa, and that's the way it should be.
