Huh Again??

No it doesn't because the college game/concepts and the NFL game/concepts can be so different.

Some QBs can be better fits for the college game than the NFL game and Milroe fit the bill as an explosive running QB with his 4.3/40. One could even argue that he was the Alabama's offense in 2023 when he finished 6th in the Heisman voting with first (and only one) year coordinator Tommy Rees who had spent the prior 6 or so years at Notre Dame.

Bama ran year one of Kalen DeBoer's offense in 2024. That offense relies extremely heavily on the QB decision making tree to distribute the ball and is known to be pass game centric. There is no rationalization you can make with Milroe where he has some advantage in DeBoer's offense. Simpson lost the competition to Milroe, and he reportedly was not happy about it iirc, but he sat the bench like a dutiful backup QB afterwards and in his small appearance sample size of six games didn't do anything noteworthy, other than put up a forgettable completion percentage.

So. Again. And honestly for the last time in this thread at least, given that I don't want to further pollute the board with senseless back and forths, it is silliness to try to gloss over Simpson's inability to beat out Milroe for the 2024 season. That's the kind of thing I would expect his mother to do, not someone on a football board. ROTF

NO ONE. And I mean NO ONE made any rationalization that Milroe had an advantage running DeBoer's offense. That's poppycock.banghead

The point made was that Milroe was an explosive talent and had just come off of a season where he played well enough to finish 6th in the Heisman voting and a question of whether there was a legit competition. Maybe I'm mistaken but has there ever been a time where a QB who played well enough to get Heisman votes lost their jobs to someone already on the team the following year? But, I digress.

Anyway, did Bama run DeBoer's offense in 2024? OK. He was the head coach.

But was it actually the same offense he had been running when Jalen Milroe ran more times in one season than both Pennix AND Simpson did COMBINED in 3 SEASONS under DeBoer. Probably not. Huh?.

So why did the DeBoer's so-called pass centric offense you state disappear for a season? The explosive Jalen Milroe.

So AGAIN, I state that a Milroe's so-called NFL Projection (which was higher prior to his final season) has absolutely nothing to do with anything regarding his starting over Simpson in COLLEGE.:

Perhaps you should stop ROTF long enough to work on your reading comprehension skills.
