Nope, not ignoring that at all 43

Namely, joining the rat race to draft a rookie QB in 2027 while burning a ton of draft capital to trade up in order to even get in the race?

And that strategy would have made the Garrett acquisition almost impossible, btw.

Stafford is playing great but we all know his days are numbered, so a future replacement had to be secured and soon.

Rams seem to love this Simpson kid and that should count for an awful lot.

Only the future will reveal whether Rams made best possible choice but I can see the logic in their strategy already.

Let’s give the kid the benefit of the doubt for at least 2 seasons. His environment in which to grow could scarcely be any better, after all.

Nope, not ignoring that at all 43. I just think Stafford will play at least 2 more years so drafting a QB high in 2027 would not be a huge need therefore no need to "burn a ton of Draft capitol".

I also think we would be better getting a FA QB to replace Stafford when that time comes.

As for giving the kid " at least 2 more years", that is exactly what will happen because Simpson won't play any time soon. In the mean time, I hope we at least get to see Simpson play a ton in Preseason or during mop up time when we get some big leads during the season.

But he might not even get that chance if Bennett ends up as QB2 which is entirely possible.

As for McVay "loving the kid"? I have no idea if that's true or not and based on his reaction at the Draft, I still have some doubts. Regardless of what happened prior to the pick that might have made McVay upset, imo, if he really loved the pick and was truly "excited" about the pick, he would've at least seemed a little bit happy about it. At least enough to make him forget about whatever he was mad about until after the pick of someone he "loved" and really wanted. McVay didn't even smile a little smile. lol Not once during that whole conference discussing the pick he allegedly "loved" so much.

I think we will be having the Simpson conversation for a long time to come. There will be lots to discuss. I will feel better if Simpson beats out Bennett as QB2. Looking forward to preseason this year more than the last few. Should be fun to watch!

#HelmetHornsMatter

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.

“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
