But that pick didn't happen in a vacuum. The Rams' picking Simpson allowed them to trade for Garrett.
***That's just not true. That's an "assumption" on your part. We really don't know that, do we?
That has been so widely reported I can hardly believe you question it. Here's a sampling from the first page of hits on the subject but there are plenty more.
Sorry, post all the stuff from the internet that you want. I still feel that we could've found a way to get Garrett.
I understand how it helped but knowing how Snead/McVay always seem to find ways to get what they want regardless of price or cap, I see no reason to think if they really wanted Garrett, they would've found a way to get it done...somehow, someway.
Of all the things we have discussed regarding Simpson, Sadiq, Garrett and pick 13, the subject of "Simpson made the Garrett trade possible" is very low on my list of things I question.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
