The biggest question for most is why was he taken so high? Usually a QB picked that high is expected to be a sure thing starter.
Easy Answer?
Simpson was selected that high because the team (
with all the information of which most media pundits, players, and fans don't have access) liked what they saw during the evaluation period, wanted him, and didn't want to lose the opportunity to select him.
Should be common sense.
BTW, the so-called and imaginary sure things at the position don't usually get out of the top 3 selections.
Not sure it's an easy answer either or common sense for that matter, but it's certainly not a "dumb" question. There were many legit reasons for people to question why he was picked at 13.
You might not like the question or agree with it but to say it's "dumb" is a little disrespectful imo.
There were a LOT of smart people who get paid to analyze these types of things and know what they are talking about who also questioned it.
I hope he turns out to be a HOF'er and I hope he wins us a couple rings. We'll see what happens. By the time the kid actually plays, most people will have forgotten about when he was picked. lol
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
