Agreed. He really had two phases of his career. Probably the best punt returner in the league over the '81 and '82 seasons. And then finally as a full-time starter was among the best CB in the league from '83 through '88.
I met Irvin once as well, at a Rams alumni event at Cal State Fullerton in early 1997. It was a fundraiser for Lamar Lundy, who was fighting cancer at the time. Met Ferragamo, Robert Delpino, Greg Meisner, and several others.
