Glad to see you're back. And glad to see that you haven't lost any of that spunk.
Garrett will turn 31 on Dec 29 so the NFL considers this 31-year-old season. He is under contract for 5 years so the Rams have him for his 31-35 year old seasons. And please note, that's 5 years if they want him for 5 years - the structure of his contract lets the Rams cut bait after 3 or 4 years without any serious cap issues. So if he does start to tail off the Rams can get out from under this deal.
He was the Defensive Player of the Year last season and also won it in 2023. One could argue that the Rams are getting him in the primes of his career so tailing off doesn't seem like it's in the cards. But if it is the Rams will be in good shape.
For what it's worth, this is what these guys did over the same 5 year spread (31-35 years old)
Bruce Smith had 58 sacks (an average of over 11 sacks a year). He also had 50 more in his 36-40 year old seasons.
Reggie White had 55 sacks (11 average)
Kevin Greene had 60.5 (12 average)
And yes, I am comparing Garrett to some of the all time greats. That's because Garrett has more sacks before turning 30 than any of them.
From this article: [

As Garrett beat the Patriots on the edge early in the first quarter, he zeroed in on QB Drake Maye to take him down for the sack. That sack set an NFL record for the most sacks by a player under the age of 30. Garrett surpassed Reggie White, who had 108 sacks, and sets the record with 108.5 sacks.
My note - Before Garrett turned 30 he tacked on another 17 sacks after that record-breaker and ended up with 125.5 sacks before he turned 30, shattering Reggie White's former record of 108.
